On Sunday, 9/6/1436 AH – 29/3/2015 AD, a delegation from the Canadian Embassy has visited the Society and was welcomed by Dr. Mufleh Al-Qahtani, the Chairman of the Society, and Mr. Ahmed Al Mahmoud, the Secretary of the Chairman. The delegation includes Ms.Collin Mabinder, Deputy Director of the Gulf  Relations, Ms.Aliyaa Mawani, a Counselor in the Canadian Embassy and Mr. Mahmoud Abdel-Sayed, the Information and Liaison Officer.

At the beginning of the meeting, HE the Chairman of the Society has given them a brief explanation regarding the Society’s activities, its contribution in spreading the human rights culture and its mechanism. Besides, they have shed light on the types of issues received by the Society and how the Society helps the Complainants as well as the remarkable progress in the human rights field in the Kingdom and the efforts exerted for its enhancement. In addition, they have talked about some countries’ attitude regarding the Saudi affairs and in this concept Dr. Mufleh has asserted on the importance of understanding the legal mechanism of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, by the Western Countries, which bases on the Islamic Sharia. Furthermore, they have talked about the entrance of women into the Shura Council and allowing her to participate in the municipal elections and about the underage marriage in the presence of the Child Protection System which has recently released. The delegation has also praised the efforts exerted by the Society in the human rights field.
