On Tuesday, 03/05/1438 AH, a delegation from the US State Department has visited the National Society for Human Rights. It was headed by Mr. Carl Fox, director of Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons in the US State Department, number of officials in the US Embassy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Human Rights Commission and was received by HE the Chairman of the National Society for Human Rights, Dr. Mufleh Rabiean Al-Qahtani.
At the beginning of the meeting, HE the chairman of the Society has given the delegation a brief explanation regarding the Society’s activities and its contribution in spreading the human rights culture as well as the human rights’ remarkable progress in the Kingdom and the efforts exerted for its enhancement and in particular fighting human trafficking.
In addition, they have talked about the remarkable progress in the field of fighting the crimes of human trafficking in Saudi Arabia such as the issuance of (anti-trafficking crimes) system which prohibits in its second article any form of human trafficking including being compelled, threatened, kidnapped, or deception, exploitation of position or influence, as well as abusing the authority, or exploiting  the weakness, or giving or receiving payments or benefits  to achieve the consent of a person having control over another for sexual assault, or forced labor, begging, slavery or practices similar to slavery, servitude, the removal of organs, or conducting medical experiments on him. Besides, the government has established a committee for this purpose and established many domestic workers recruiting companies that carry out such affairs.
They have also discussed the recent decisions of the US administration and the consequent detention of several people in US airports as well as discussing how the Kingdom has accommodated large numbers of Syrian and Yemeni refugees and enabled them to enjoy their rights such as the right of employment, education, treatment, and the significant progress in the field of ​​employment rights in the Kingdom.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary General of the Society Mr. Khaled Al-Fakhiri, the Secretary of the Society’s Chairman Mr. Ahmed Al-Mahmoud and a number of employees of the National Society for Human Rights.
