The Syrian city of Aleppo has exposed to shelling and attacks which resulted in the occurrence of hundreds of dead and thousands of injured. Since the beginning of the attacks, they do not targeted any of the military sites, but they are attacking  the civilian sites only including service facilities, such as hospitals and centers of civil defense, including the Jerusalem hospital, which led to the killing of about fifty civilians, including doctors, medics and patients.

The Saudi government and the international community have denounced this aggression as well as the National Society for Human Rights which has condemned this barbaric targeting of civilians, doctors and paramedics.

In this direction, the Security Council unanimously has passed, on the third of May, Resolution no.2286 concerning the protection of civilians in armed conflict and health care during the conflict. In addition, the Secretary-General of the United Nations has confirmed, in the same session, on the need for the commitment of all states to respect and protect members of health services, medical facilities and vehicles as well as the wounded and sick in armed conflict. He has also pointed out that the parties of the conflict must allow and facilitate the quick passage and unimpeded the impartial humanitarian relief including medical missions.

Besides, he urged in his speech, before the Council members of the Security Council and all States, to do more to condemn such attacks, and to use all means to influence the parties to respect their commitments, as the Secretary-General appealed to Member States to work more intensively to find political solutions to end the bloodshed and suffering.

The Secretary-General stressed in his speech to the Security Council that the deliberate and direct attacks on hospitals are war crimes.

The National Society for Human Rights demands from the relevant international organizations to work together for the trial of Bashar al-Assad as a war criminal.
