Dr. Mufleh Rabiean-Qahtani, the Chairman of the National Society for Human Rights ,has questioned the attitudes of the international organizations from the Kingdom’s situation in the field of human rights, and said: “Some reports and observations may be built on inaccurate information”.

In addition, Al-Qahtani, said in a statement to “ Al- Hayat ”: “If we have errors, we should acknowledge and solve them through applying the laws and regulations and enhancing the independence of the judiciary and respect the rights of everyone as well as staying away as much as possible from the individual decision that is not based on a text or in-depth study, so as to demonstrate its advantages and disadvantages before taking or applying it”.

The Chairman of the NSHR  asserts the importance of “studying the reports of the international human rights organizations dealing with the Saudi affairs, and confess what is true and work on correcting it”, using  in this regard the proverb that says: ‘May God have mercy on the one who confess my flaws to me’. He added saying that: «If the reports were incorrect,  we will say: Bring your proof.”

Al-Qahtani also refers to the existence of some authorities that  published human rights reports concerning the Kingdom for “achieving  political or economic gains without being based on the facts in the practical application, or making reports based on individual cases and circulate them”.

He also added that: “we talked about such reports with some delegations of these organizations or States that issued them during their visit to the Society”. He called the organizations, that have expressed its observations concerning  the Saudi human rights affairs,  to “ refer to the significant progress that has happened in the field of human rights in the Kingdom in the recent period, so as to have some kind of justice and balance.”
