On Monday 22/01/1435 AH corresponding to 26/11/2013 AD,  the head of the Sub-Committee of the European Union Ms. Barbara loshbalr accompanied by Dr. York Vogan, the Chancellor of the European Union to the Kingdom , have visited the National Society for Human Rights (NSHR). They were met by the Chairman of the NSHR, Dr. Mufleh bin Rabiean Qahtani , the Vice President of the Society  for Family Affairs , Dr.Nora Al Ajlan and some other members of the Society. At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Society has given a brief summary of the activities of the Society and its contribution in spreading the human rights culture as well as the remarkable progress in the human rights’ field in the Kingdom. They have also talked about the evolution of the Kingdom in organizing the conditions of the migrant workers and the efforts that have been made in order to facilitate their deportation after the end of the correction period . He has also said that the Society is following up the correction campaign and the human rights’ situation. Besides, he is demanding from the embassies of the expatriate labor to provide their identification papers and what is necessary to facilitate their deportation. Both parties have also stressed on the importance of the economic entities’ role  in developing the labor-exporting countries economically so as to ensure that these workers will stay in their countries and have sources of income. In addition, they have talked about the draft law of the non-governmental  associations and organizations in the Kingdom which are under discussion by the concerned authorities and awaiting publication.  During the meeting, they have talked also about  the issuance of  the three procedural regulations: the procedure law, the Criminal Procedure and the proceedings before the Board of Grievances as they are considered a quantum leap in the promotion and protection of human rights in the Kingdom as well as talking about the progress regarding the security prisoners issue and the preservation of their rights. At the end of the meeting, both  parties have stressed the importance of exchanging the views on matters relating to human rights in general , and the presidency of the Society has thanked the visiting delegation for the warm reception.

The meeting was attended, from the Society’s side, by the Secretary-General –designate, adviser Khalid bin Abdul Rahman al-Fakhiri, the member of the Society HE AD . Abdulaziz Huneidi , and Dr. Ibrahim Suleiman and the secretary of the Chairman of the Society , Mr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Mahmoud.
