The Chairman of the National Society for Human Rights, Dr. Mufleh Rabiean Al-Qahtani, has praised the approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to change the name of the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution Commission to the Public Prosecution and linking it directly to the King and giving it full powers and independence in its field of work considering it an important step in supporting the human rights and judicial work in the Kingdom. It also affirms the principle of separation of powers as it will enable the Public Prosecution to carry out its duties to defend the interests of the higher society, take the necessary steps towards the issues of prisoners and detainees as quickly as necessary, and limit the length of administrative procedures. To illustrate, the Public Prosecution will play a fundamental role in the functioning of the justice system in the Kingdom, through exercising its work stipulated in the relevant regulations.
