The National Society for Human Rights holds a Meeting on Empowering Saudi Women in Partnership with the National Women’s Observatory

The National Society for Human Rights has held an extensive meeting today on the topic of empowering Saudi women: supporting inclusivity, diversity, and sustainable development. The event was attended by the Society’s Chairman, Mr.Khalid bin Abdul Rahman Al-Fakhri, along with a group of experts and stakeholders who are interested in women’s rights and sustainable development.
During the meeting, updates on the empowerment of Saudi women were discussed in light of the reforms that the Kingdom has witnessed in recent years. In addition, the national efforts to enhance women’s participation in various economic, social, and political fields were reviewed, in line with Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Furthermore, the Chairman of the National Society for Human Rights has emphasized in his speech that empowering women is one of the pillars of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and holds both developmental and strategic importance, as it contributes to ensuring social justice and enhancing national competitiveness. He has noted that the Society is actively monitoring the progress made in this area and supports all initiatives that contribute to achieving equal opportunities and rights between genders.
On her part, the Director of the National Women’s Observatory, Dr. Sana bint Mohsen Al-Otaibi, has presented key indicators and data related to Saudi women’s participation in the labor market and leadership positions. She has highlighted the positive developments that have been achieved and stressed the importance of strengthening policies and legislation that support inclusivity and diversity to ensure the sustainability of these gains.
In addition, the meeting has featured rich discussions on ways to enhance a supportive environment for women, the challenges they face, and the proposed solutions to increase their representation across various sectors, along with an overview of the best global practices in this field.
