The National Society for Human Rights holds a panel discussion entitled “Civil Society Institutions and their Role in the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights”
On Wednesday, 17/02/1446 AH corresponding to 21/08/2024 AD, the National Society for Human Rights held a panel discussion entitled “Civil Society Institutions and their Role in the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights”, coinciding with the World Humanitarian Day, in the presence of the Chairman of the Society, Mr.Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Fakhri, and the participation of a number of members of the Shura Council, civil society institutions, experts and those interested in the field of human rights.
The participants has discussed the developmental role of civil society institutions in the Kingdom in supporting and promoting human rights, their role in achieving the United Nations sustainable development goals, and their contribution in achieving Saudi Vision 2030.
Besides, the participants have discussed the role of civil society institutions in the protection and promotion of human rights, in addition to the challenges they face, and proposals and recommendations for the development of civil society institutions to ensure the support and promotion of human rights.
The National Society for Human Rights has organized the seminar coincides with the World Humanitarian Day which is commemorated every year on the 19th of August
In addition, a number of civil society organisations have participated in this workshop. For instance, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, King Khalid Foundation, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Foundation for Development Housing, Princess Al-Anoud Charitable Foundation, Princess Seetah bin Abdulaziz Award for Excellence in Social Work, Al-Nahda Association, Children with Disabilities Association, Al-Bir National Association, Bunyan Association, Mawaddah Association for Family Development, Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Rajhi Charitable Foundation, Disability Association Adult Movement, Abdulaziz bin Baz Charitable Foundation, and a number of members of the National Society for Human Rights.
