The National Society for Human Rights, in partnership with the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, has organized a workshop today entitled “Enhancing Self-Monitoring.” The session was presented by Mr.Abdulmohsen bin Mohammed Al-Duwaisi, Integrity Protection Consultant at the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Society, Mr. Khaled bin Abdulrahman Al-Fakhri, along with representatives from government agencies, civil society organizations, stakeholders, and media outlets.

During the workshop, Al-Duwaisi has shed light on the importance of enhancing transparency, self-monitoring, and public fund protection, which contribute to national and societal stability and prosperity. To illustrate, he has discussed the key values that lead to effective self-monitoring, such as honesty, integrity, work proficiency, and citizenship. He has also highlighted their role in improving performance efficiency, decision-making, transparency, accountability, and service development.

Besides, Al-Duwaisi has also addressed the motivators of self-monitoring, including training, continuous awareness, social upbringing, and reminders of legal penalties. He has also outlined the major corruption crimes such as bribery, abuse of power, and mismanagement of public funds, explaining their impact on sustainable development and human rights.

In addition, he has shed light on the recently issued regulations of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, detailing its mandate and role in protecting citizens’ rights and national resources from exploitation and violations.

The lecture has also covered the best practices for promoting integrity and combating corruption within society, encouraging the adoption of governance principles, transparency, and accountability.

Finally, Al-Duwaisi has highlighted the significant progress that Saudi Arabia has made recently in enhancing integrity and fighting corruption, in alignment with the goals of Vision 2030. Moreover, he has emphasized how these efforts contribute to safeguarding citizens’ rights, improving quality of life, and fostering sustainable development.
