On the occasion of the International Day for Human Rights, the Chairman of the National Society for Human Rights, Dr. Mufleh Rabiean Al-Qahtani, has said that there should be constant quest to maintain and empower human rights, renounce violence and to ensure the achievement of justice, and equality, as well as enhancing the national cohesion through the continuous work of the state’s efforts , and interests, institutions, and the relevant authorities with the individual, family, and community so as to ensure the achievement of these objectives. Moreover, it is important to raise the awareness of respecting them and recognizing the sanctity of their assault, or violation, or preventing their access. He adds saying that, thankfully, in our country we enjoy the most important rights: the right in security, which without it, we cannot enjoy any other rights.

Besides, Dr. Al-Qahtani adds that “It is unfortunate that we are witnessing in our world today such duplication in standards in the field of protection of human rights, and defending it internationally. To illustrate, the protection of human rights, nowadays, has not become a goal in itself, but a way to achieve political and economic interests for those countries. Hence, we find that these countries which claim defending human rights do not move a finger, and turn a blind eye to the flagrant violations committed against civilians, as we see cities being destroyed and women and children being killed and displaced.  On the other hand, we find that these countries raise some small issues, and leave the big issues that represent flagrant and unprecedented violations of human rights. Besides, in our contemporary world, what is happening now in Syria, especially in Aleppo, makes the World Day for Human Right a black dot and disgrace in the forehead of humanity and of those states that claim the defense of human rights while we find that they stand by and watch these events for the sake of their political and economic interests. Consequently, it is important to reconsider the Arab mechanism and the Gulf  in particular, which would contribute to the protection of the rights of the Arab and the Gulf peoples. , and to fulfill what is said by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdelaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, in the last GCC, since the surrounding events of the Gulf states pose a challenge to its existence and its people to enjoy their rights. “
