The world celebrates the International Day of Human Rights in the tenth of December of each year. On this occasion, the Chairman of the National Society for Human Rights , Dr. Mufleh al-Qahtani Rabiean, has asserted on the importance of respecting ,protecting and promoting human rights and spreading its culture in the Kingdom between the citizen and the administrator.

The observers of the human rights’ situation in Saudi Arabia will note that there is a significant progress in the promotion and protection of human rights in the Kingdom. This was reflected on the re-election of the Kingdom in the Human Rights Council recently . It was also noted the great efforts that are made ​​to enable the expatriate labor of their rights during the period of correction. Besides, during the last period, the Society has followed up the procedures that have been taken on the expatriate labor who do not correct their conditions and it has noted the concern for empowering these labor their rights and providing them shelters in preparation for their deportation. The Society hopes from the embassies of the countries of these employment to help in providing the necessary identification papers to the citizens in order to facilitate their return to their country .

Moreover, he praised his happiness  for the issuance of  the three procedural regulations: the procedure law, the Criminal Procedure and the proceedings before the Board of Grievances as they are considered a quantum leap in the promotion and protection of human rights in the Kingdom.

He also stresses that there is a need to regularly evaluate the reality of human rights in the Kingdom in order to be an observation for the human rights progress and then work on encouraging it and identifying the ways to enhance its continuity , as well as revealing the shortcomings and work on avoiding them.
