On Tuesday 22/6/1443 AH corresponding to 25/1/2022 AD, the Australian Ambassador to the Kingdom, Mr. Chris Elistoft, accompanied by Mr. Nicholas Bay, the Second Secretary and Human Rights Officer at the Australian Embassy in Riyadh, has visited the National Society for Human Rights in Riyadh.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the Chairman of the Society has given a brief explanation of the Society’s activities and its contribution to the dissemination of human rights culture, its mechanisms, the type of cases it receives, and the work provided by the Society in this regard. He has also shed light on development that has taken place in the Kingdom in the field of human rights, and they have discussed some human rights issues such as the death penalty, women’s rights and freedom of religion, as well as international conventions and charters to which the Kingdom has acceded. The meeting has been attended by Mr. Ahmed Al-Mahmoud, the Secretary of the Chairman of the NSHR.
