On the occasion of the celebration of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, on the twenty-first of March of each year, the Chairman of the National Society for Human Rights, Mr. Khalid bin Abdul Rahman Al-Fakhri, has stressed that the United Nations Declaration on the Elimination of all Forms of Racial Discrimination emphasizes the need to quickly eliminate racial discrimination around the world, in all its forms and manifestations. It also emphasizes the need to ensure understanding and respect for the human person’s dignity.

The Chairman of the Society has also said that the International Day for the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination is an important occasion to recall the importance of standing firmly against racial discrimination in all its forms and manifestations, rejecting hatred and intolerance, and promoting a culture of tolerance, coexistence, as well as the rule of justice and equality.

Besides, the National Society for Human Rights in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has considered that the way in which Israel exercises its control over the Palestinian people is a vivid and blatant example of racial discrimination. This is in light of the continuation of Western governments to provide all kinds of support to the Israeli occupation forces to continue the continuous discrimination and apartheid on innocent and defenseless people. Hence, this requires the need for the international community to take urgent measures to end the suffering of the Palestinian people from the effects of Israeli racial discrimination.

Finally, Al-Fakhri has praised the clear legislative and human rights pillars included in the Kingdom’s regulations to support and promote human rights in line with the state’s general policies in accordance with the directives of the wise leadership – may God support it – which mainly emphasize on equality, justice, tolerance, and the respect of human rights as well as the rejection of racial discrimination in all its forms.
