-On Thursday, 7/4/1438 AH, The Norwegian Foreign Minister, Mr. Borg Prendh accompanied by the Norwegian Ambassador to the Kingdom Mr. Ralph Willy Hansen and a number of officials of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry. They were received by HE the Chairman of the National Human Rights Society Dr. Mufleh Rabiean Al-Qahtani and number of the Society’s member.

At the beginning of the meeting, HE the chairman of the Society has given the delegation a brief explanation regarding the Society’s activities and its contribution in spreading the human rights culture as well as the human rights’ remarkable progress in the Kingdom and the efforts exerted for its enhancement.

They have also talked about the remarkable progress of human rights in the Kingdom including the women entrance to the Shoura Council and allowing her to participate in the municipal elections as well as supporting her in the work field.

Besides, they discussed the Irani’s intervention in the region and the impact of such conditions on human rights especially with the Iranian government’s determination to destabilize in more than one Arab country.

They have also dealt with some other human rights issues raised by the visiting delegation, and the Chairman of the Society has clarified the Society’s position from them. They stressed also on common positions and views between the Kingdom of Norway and Saudi Arabia on the ongoing events in the region such as the Syrian issue and the events in Yemen.
