On Monday, 14/4/1436 AH – 3/2/2015 AD, a delegation from the German Embassy in Riyadh has visited the Society and was welcomed by Dr. Mufleh bin Rabiean Al Qahtani, the Chairman of the Society, Mr. Khalid Al Fakhri, the Secretary General of the Society, and Mr.Ahmed Al Mahmoud, the Secretary of the Chairman. The delegation includes Mr. Boris  Ruge, the German Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Collin Nebirt, the First Secretary for Political Affairs and Mr. Ingo Schendel, Consultant and the Head of the Translation Section. At the beginning of the meeting, HE the Chairman of the Society has given them a brief explanation regarding the Society’s activities and its contribution in spreading the human rights culture as well as the human rights’ remarkable progress in the Kingdom and the efforts exerted for its enhancement. Moreover, the Chairman of the Society has asserted on the smooth transition of power which supports the human rights’ conditions in the Kingdom. They have also shed light on the human rights’ conditions in the region and the external intervention especially the Iranian negative intervention in the Gulf region so as to destabilize its security and stability and the measures that are taken by the Gulf countries to protect their security and the impact on human rights. Moreover, the Chairman of the Society has asked the guest about the anti-Islamic groups in Europe and Germany and whether those, that have recently appeared in Germany, have popular support. The guest has explained that these groups do not have specific or clear goals but they sometimes make such movements because they have objections on the public policies. He adds saying that such groups will not continue in the long term. In addition, the German ambassador has praised the positive improvement in the human rights’ field in the Kingdom such as the entrance of women into the Shura Council and allowing her to participate in the municipal elections as well as the development in the judiciary. At the end of the meeting, the ambassador has praised the Society’s role in the human rights’ field and has stressed on the importance of exchanging views concerning matters relating to human rights continuously as it will allow a better understanding to the concept of human rights which may vary from one culture to another.
