The Chairman of the Society, Dr. Mufleh Rabiean Al-Qahtani, and the Secretary General of the Society, Mr. Khalid Abdurrahman Al-Fakhri, have participated in the regional conference on the “NHCHR’s Role in The Promotion and Protection of Human Rights in the Arab Region” that was taken place in the State of Qatar. The conference was attended by many governmental delegations concerned with human rights and number of civil human rights institutions in the Arab world. During the conference, the participants have emphasized on the need to establish independent national mechanisms to monitor cases of speech of violence and hatred and that the United Nations has to find solutions to the humanitarian issues. At the end of the conference, the participants have recommended the need to open new horizons to support the involvement of women and youth in the preparation of awareness programs and education and give them more attention in the work plan of the Commissioner and partners in the Arab region. Finally, the participants have also praised the effective experiment carried out by the Commissioner by listening to the views of governments and the effective entities of civil society so as to develop the Commissioner’s strategy for dealing with the Arab region.
