The Swiss ambassador to the Kingdom, Mr. Heinrich Shelnerry, has visited the National Society for Human Rights, and met the Chairman of the Society Dr. Mufleh Rabiean Al-Qahtani. At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Society has given the visiting delegation a brief explanation on the activities of the Society and its contribution in spreading the human rights culture in the society and its mechanisms of action. They have also discussed the humanitarian aspects of some current issues in the Middle East such as the Palestinian issue – Syrian problem and the events taken place in Yemen as well as shedding light on the position of Switzerland of these issues and to what extent it support the Saudi position regarding that. Besides, the Ambassador highlights that Switzerland is interested in humanitarian issues in general and is working to create the conditions for creating suitable dialogue environment and that is why it hosted the interlocutors in some of these issues and hopes the success of the efforts in this regard. The ambassador has also praised the efforts undertaken by the Society and stressed on the importance of exchanging views concerning matters relating to human right.  The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman Dr. Salah Al-Khathlan, the Secretary General of the Society Mr. Khaled Abdurrahman Al-Fakhri and the Secretary of the Chairman of the Society Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Mahmoud.
