On Sunday 11/3/1443 AH corresponding to 17/10/2021 AD, the Chairman of the Society, Dr. Mufleh bin Rabiean Al-Qahtani, has received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Kingdom, Mrs. Janet Alberd, accompanied by the political advisor at the embassy, ​​Ms. Petra Smolders.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Society has given them a brief explanation of the Society’s activities and its contribution to the dissemination of the human rights culture in the Kingdom, its work mechanisms, the type of cases it receives, and the work provided by the Society in this regard.

They have also shed light on the development that the Kingdom is witnessing in the field of human rights, in particular in the field of women’s rights and their empowerment in many fields, such as the judicial, social and educational fields. The visiting delegation has praised these steps.

Besides, the talk also touched on some other human rights issues such as the rights of children, prisoners and expatriate workers, which the Chairman of the Society has indicated that these issues receive the Society’s interest and follow-up to ensure obtaining the human right and achieving justice.

In addition, the policy officials of the American Embassy in Riyadh, Mr. Braves Calland and Mrs. Mary Gomez have visited the Society, and met with its Chairman

The Chairman of the Society, along with the visiting delegations, has raised the human rights violations committed by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia, which harm the Yemeni people, especially the women and children, and targeted civilian objects, hospitals and airports in the Kingdom and Yemen. In addition, the Chairman of the Society was ashtonished from the lax attitude of the European Union regarding the crimes of these militias and their reflection on human rights issues and the continuation of the war. The discussion has also shed light on the situation in Yemen and the Kingdom’s keenness, as being the leader of the coalition countries, to preserve the rights of civilians and children, and Saudi Arabia’s assistance to the Yemeni people, despite the Houthi militias placing obstacles in the way of access to these militias. The visiting delegations affirmed that their country supports ending the war and supports humanitarian work in Yemen.

Finally, the meeting was attended by the Society’s Secretary of the Society’s Chairman, Mr. Ahmed bin Muhammad Al-Mahmoud.
