On Wednesday, 26/1/1436 AH – 19/11/2014 AD, a delegation from the Norwegian Embassy in Riyadh has visited the Society and it was welcomed by Dr. Mufleh bin Robaien Al Qahtani, the Chairman of the Society, Mr. Khalid Al Fakhri and Mr. Ahmed Al Mahmoud. The delegation includes Mr. Rolf Willy Hansen, the Norwegian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mr. Anders Holmen Gulbrandsen, the Embassy Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission and Ms. Khloud Fauwzy, the Embassy Executive Secretary. At the beginning of the meeting, HE the Chairman of the Society has given them a brief explanation regarding the Society’s activities and its contribution in spreading the human rights culture as well as the human rights’ remarkable progress in the Kingdom and the efforts exerted for its enhancement. In addition, they have talked about the entrance of women into the Shura Council and allowing her to participate in the municipal elections as well as talking about understanding the legal mechanism in the Kingdom, by the Western Countries, which bases on the Islamic law. Besides, the delegation has stressed on the importance of exchanging views concerning matters relating to human rights continuously as it will allow a better understanding to the concept of human rights which may vary from one culture to another.
