British Delegation visits the Society
On Wednesday afternoon, 15-11-1435 AH, the British Secretary of State for Justice, Mr. Chris Grayling , the British ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mr. John Jenkins and the accompanying delegation, have visited the National Society for Human Rights and were received by Dr. Mufleh Bin Rabiean Qahtani, the Chairman of the Society, Dr. Saleh bin Mohammed Khathlan, the Vice President of the Society and a group of the Society’s members and staff. At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the Chairman of the Society has given them a brief explanation regarding the Society’s activities and its contribution in spreading the human rights culture as well as the human rights’ remarkable progress in the Kingdom. In addition, they have talked about some human rights’ topics and both have stressed on the importance of exchanging views concerning matters relating to human rights in general. Besides, the Chairman has asked the visiting minister about the actions that have been taking regarding the Saudi student who has been killed in Britain recently and the result of the investigations. The Minister has denounced this heinous crime and asserted that he does not think that it’s a racially-motivated hate crime and added saying that the killer will be punished and spend the rest of his life in prison. Furthermore, the British ambassador to the Kingdom has assured that the issue is followed up by the lawyers. At the end of the meeting, the visiting delegation has thanked the presidency of the Society for its warm reception.
