The National Society for Human Rights has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Public Authority for Transport aiming to cooperate and coordinate in several fields. The agreement has included various areas of joint cooperation between the two parties, the most prominent of which were the following:

1- Cooperating in launching awareness projects and campaigns for public transport users.

2- Preparing awareness brochures on the rights and obligations of transport users.

3- Contribute to the activation of international days on human rights.

4- Achieving fruitful cooperation between the two parties in implementing programs and activities that help support community initiatives in the humanitarian, human rights and social fields.

The agreement was signed by the Chairman of the National Society for Human Rights, Mr. Khalid bin Abdul Rahman Al-Fakhri, and on behalf of the Public Transport Authority, His Excellency Mr. Abdulaziz bin Saud Al-Farraj, Undersecretary of the Authority.

In addition, his Excellency the Chairman of the National Society for Human Rights has stated that the Society seeks to establish more partnerships with governmental institutions and civil society institutions which are active in its field in order to contribute to achieve the objectives of the Society and support targeted programs in society.

Besides, His Excellency has pointed out that the memorandum of understanding with the Transport General Authority is one of the strategic areas of cooperation, which we look forward to spread and promote the culture of human rights and raise awareness of them through public transport. It will help also in highlighting the rights stipulated in the regulations in force in the Kingdom for individuals to ensure their enjoyment of these rights, and the agreement will also contribute to holding many training workshops and awareness lectures in the field of human rights.
