On 24-4-1435, Prince Mishaal bin Abdullah, the Emir of Makah Region, has received, in the Emirate’s Diwan in Makah , a delegation of the members of the National Society for Human Rights in Makah consisting of:

1-    Dr. Omar Hafez , the supervisor of the Society’s branch in Jeddah

2-    Mr. Omar Qadi, the head of the Supervisory Board

3-    Suleiman al-Zaidi, the supervisor of the Office of the Holy City

4-    Al Sherif Mansour Abo-Rayash, the Society’s member

5-    Mohammed Clinton,  the Society’s member

6-    Dr. Mohammad Al-Sahli, the Society’s member

7-    Adel Al Thebati, the Society’s representative in Al-Taif

In the beginning of the meeting, the Prince has stressed on the importance of the Society’s mission in monitoring and protecting the human rights. He adds saying that “the orders and the instructions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz, to the officials, including me, assert on protecting and maintaining the rights of the citizens and the residents in accordance to the Islamic teaching and the applicable regulation.

In addition, the Prince has explained to the Society’s delegation that he, and the Emirate as well as the districts’ officials will help and support the Society in order to achieve its mission perfectly.  He has also directed the Secretariat of the capital to allocate a  ground in Makah for building the permanent headquarters of the Society. Also, he has ordered to appoint a liaison officer from the emirate to coordinate between the emirate and the Society.

Moreover, the Prince has listened to the members’ remarks regarding some issues that have been presented to the Society, including the delay in the trial of some of those  who are arrested in criminal or human rights crimes and he has promised to follow-up and accelerate their cases before the courts and improve the prisons’ environment.
