On Thursday 01/09/1442 AH corresponding to 08/27/2020 AD, the Chairman of the Society, Dr. Mufleh Al-Qahtani, has participated in the global dialogue: “Let’s shape the future together” based on an invitation from the Saudi Green Building Forum,  and also the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue and the United Nations has participated. To illustrate, His Excellency Dr. Mufleh has delivered an opening speech to the session in which he thanked those in charge of organizing this important meeting, which aims to promote the principles of global dialogue, and to all the participants in it. He has also thanked in particular His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al-Fawzan, Secretary General of the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue and a member of the Shura Council, Mrs. Natalie Fauste, Resident Ambassador to the United Nations in the Kingdom, and Engineer Faisal al-Fadl, a Representative to the United Nations, Secretary-General of the Saudi Green Building Forum.
Moreover, the global dialogue, which discussed a number of important axes, has reflected the desire of the United Nations, the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue and the Saudi Forum for Green Buildings their desire to play their role in promoting the values of citizenship that the world aspires to today so as to face the huge changes and complex challenges it is witnessing. For instance, some of those challenges are the climate crisis, inequality, forms of violence, the new developments, and the rapid changes in technology and human settlement, as well as the epidemics and health crises, including the Corona virus epidemic that has swept the entire world.
In addition, the meeting has reviewed the different ways to enhance action, international cooperation and the participation of local communities across borders, governmental, non-governmental and private sectors to fulfill the United Nations’ promises to make the world better off. They have also promised building a more equal and cooperative post-Corona world, as well as achieving progress towards the principles, methodologies and applications of the sustainable development goals of the United Nations, as being the only global organization that gives hope to so many people for a better world and is able to provide the future we want.
