The Chairman of the National Society for Human Rights, Mr. Khalid bin Abdul Rahman Al-Fakhri, on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day, has held a panel discussion concerning the ( Human Rights Departments in Governmental Agencies and their Role in the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights) with the participation of a wide range of government agencies, members of the Shura Council and a number of experts in the field of human rights. The participants have shed light on the efforts made by the departments that are concerned with human rights in the promotion and protection of human rights in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Moreover, the participants have discussed the mechanisms used in government agencies to address issues related to human rights and the achievements of the tasks entrusted to them, and to identify the impact of their efforts, in addition to evaluating their performance and mechanisms for developing their work.

The seminar has been organized in coincide with the International Human Rights Day to highlight the efforts made by the state and its various agencies in supporting and promoting human rights in the Kingdom, including the establishment of specialized departments for human rights in government agencies.
