On the fifteenth of May of each year, the world celebrates the International Day of Families, as the United Nations General Assembly in 1993 has adopted this day as a global occasion to celebrate families and demonstrate the importance that the international community attaches to families, which this year carried the slogan of *Family and Climate Change.*

In a statement on this occasion, the Chairman of the National Society for Human Rights, Mr. Khalid bin Abdul Rahman Al-Fakhri, has stressed the importance of enhancing the awareness of families to change consumer habits through awareness and education. For more illustration, this is consider one of the important issues in meaningful and effective climate action on issues related to families, their role and their important impact in instilling sustainable habits and climate awareness from an early age, which contributes to building a vital and stable society in a way that reflects on human safety and health.

Besides, the Chairman has pointed out that the family issues and related issues have the priority in the National Society for Human Rights since its establishment, due to the role played by the family in the process of development and environmental sustainability. To illustrate, the family is the nucleus of society and the source of its development, and it is the first incubator of children and the main sponsor of their needs and education.
