The Society’s Statement on the Aggression against the Palestinian People
In the light of the continuing international failure to stop the Israeli aggression, the National Society for Human Rights in Saudi Arabia has condemned Israel’s vicious assaults against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip causing the killing of innocent children, women and civilians in clear violation of the principles of the international humanitarian law and the international conventions which protect human rights. Moreover, the Society asks the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and stop such aggression and provide the protection for the Palestinian people and it also emphasizes on the importance of the continuation of the Human Rights Council in following up its decision to conduct an investigation concerning the Israeli abuses and criminal acts. Besides, it calls all the International and Regional Human Rights organizations, associations and bodies to work for ensuring the prosecutions of the Israeli war criminals and to not let them go scot-free after killing the children and women as well as bombing the houses, the UN headquarters and schools, the crews of the ambulances, the Crescent and the Red Cross, the hospitals, the shelters, and the places of worship which are considered war crimes and are punishable by the International law. The Society has also noted the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding conducting a comprehensive investigation regarding the recent Israeli violation for the international humanitarian law that took place in the occupied Palestinian territories and in particular Gaza Strip and bringing the perpetrators to justice, stressing that the peoples of the world are waiting from the international community to take serious procedures for protecting human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In addition, the Society supports the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights’ call of the need “to immediately and independently investigate all the allegations of the international law violation in a full and efficient way in order to ensure justice and compensate the victims”. Finally, the Society appreciates the King’s support for treating the victims of the aggression.
